Check it out
Check it out was hosted by the excellent and dynamic Marie-Anne Beaudette, in front of students from Lavallee School, from the Louis Riel School Division.
The game allows young people to untangle facts from fake news while having fun and being reminded of essential scientific notions by actual doctors, professors and researchers. In the first round called Facts or Fake News, the players must answer questions on access to everyday information (on television, radio, social media, entourage, etc.) and how to process it. The second round deals with the topics of COVID-19, vaccines and variants, with actual science experts giving the right answers! The experts’ answers to the questions can also be found in this filmed version of the game through several clips. In the final round, players must challenge the clock to answer as many questions as possible in 45 seconds.
So sit back, get yourself comfortable, and enjoy watching Check it out!

In front of their screens, participants will be guided throughout the educational and fun experience by the avatar of Professor Check-all. They will have to answer questions related to the Sciences Mag Junior magazine series. Each answer is then given by renowned scientists in Manitoba, to easily explain what they need to know about COVID-19, vaccines and variants: Professor Julie Hoe (Department of Internal Medicine), Professor Jason Kindrachuk (Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases), Professor Sue Ruey (National Microbiology Laboratory) and Professor Deanna Santer (Department of Immunology).
